About Doug Mesecar, Partner at Strategos Group
Doug Mesecar has served in senior operational and policy roles at leading education companies, the U.S. Department of Education, and in Congress. His cross-cutting expertise includes strategy, P&L leadership, revenue growth, executive management, education technology and innovation, partnership development, and public policy.
He is currently a Partner at Strategos Group, a national consultancy enabling client success in the K-12 education market. Doug recently was the Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy, for IO Education. In this role, Doug developed and led organizational strategy, including M&A. He also was the general manager for products and services helping educators and leaders develop their knowledge and skills. Previously, he led virtual and blended learning solutions for EdisonLearning, the school services and education technology implementation at Sylvan Learning, and developed mathematics focused products and services at Scholastic Education. At the U.S. Department of Education, Doug held a number of senior roles, including Deputy Chief of Staff of the Department, Assistant Deputy Secretary for the Office of Innovation and Improvement, and Acting Assistant Secretary for the Office of Planning, Evaluation and Policy Development. Prior to that, he was a senior professional staff member at the U.S. House or Representatives Education and Workforce Committee, where he helped draft major K-12 legislation. Doug also taught 5th grade in Colorado.
